Getting started

Where schedules are saved

ScheduleBuilder saves differently depending on whether you are signed in. Knowing where your data lives helps you choose the right way to work and protect it.

At a glance

  • Signed-out schedules stay in the current browser
  • Signed-in schedules are saved to your account and can sync between devices
  • Exports are the safest portable backup
When you use ScheduleBuilder without an account
Your schedules are saved automatically in this browser profile on this device. They remain available when you return here, but do not appear in another browser, profile, device, or private-browsing session.
When you sign in
ScheduleBuilder saves your complete schedule collection to your account. Changes are normally saved shortly after you stop editing, so the same account can open the schedules on another device.
Check the save status when signed in
The builder header can show Saving, Saved, Offline, or Save failed. Offline and failed saves keep a local recovery draft on this device and are retried after the connection returns.
Bring local work into an account carefully
After signing in on the same browser, ScheduleBuilder can offer to import a meaningful local schedule. Review the choice: importing may replace an account’s initial blank schedule, while eligible Pro accounts can add it alongside existing schedules.
Keep an independent backup
Download a JSON export for important work, especially before clearing browser data, changing devices, or making large edits. A guest schedule can be lost if browser storage is cleared or unavailable.

Next steps

If you are working on more than one device, sign in before relying on sync. See Export, print, and back up for a copy you control.
