Import a schedule or calendar file
Restore or transfer a ScheduleBuilder JSON backup, or create an editable one-time snapshot from an iCalendar (.ics/.ical) export. The file is validated before it is shown in a preview.
Before you import
- ScheduleBuilder JSON backups, including exports from earlier versions, restore editable schedules
- iCalendar (.ics/.ical) exports create a snapshot of one selected week
- Files are parsed and validated before an import preview appears
- Canceling the preview preserves your existing schedules
- 1
Open the import option
Select Import in the builder toolbar, then choose From a file. From this device appears only when a local schedule is available in the current browser.
- 2
Choose a supported file
Select a ScheduleBuilder JSON backup to restore an editable schedule, or choose an iCalendar (.ics/.ical) export from another calendar. ScheduleBuilder detects the file type from its contents and validates it before continuing.
- 3
Review the import preview
For an iCalendar export, choose the week to import and whether to include event descriptions before opening the preview. Then check the schedule name, events, dates, and settings before making a change to your collection.
- 4
Confirm and review the collection effect
Choose Confirm import to turn the validated preview into a ScheduleBuilder schedule. A signed-in Pro account with existing cloud schedules adds it to the collection. Free, guest, and accounts without cloud schedules replace the current collection with the imported schedule. Until you confirm, the file remains only a preview and your existing schedules are unchanged.
- 5
Cancel when the backup is not right
Choose Cancel if you selected the wrong file or do not want to proceed. Canceling closes the preview and preserves all of your current schedules.

Next steps
Open the imported schedule and check its details. Export a fresh JSON backup after important changes, and sign in if you need schedules to sync between devices.
