Push notifications and reminders
Use Pro push reminders to receive a notification before scheduled events, including when ScheduleBuilder is closed. Set a schedule default, make event-specific choices, and enable every browser or device that should receive reminders.
Before you begin
- Push reminders require a signed-in Pro account
- Each browser profile or device must be enabled separately
- Only timed events can receive reminders; all-day events are skipped
- Open Reminders settings
- Open Settings in the builder and select Reminders. First select Enable on this device and complete browser setup, then choose a Default reminder to apply the same lead time to timed events that use the schedule default. Turning the default Off leaves those events without a reminder until you choose one for them.
- Choose an event-specific reminder when needed
- Open an event and select the bell beside its time fields. Choose Use schedule default, No reminder for this event, a specific lead time, or At a specific time. A specific time can be set from 60 minutes before the event start through 60 minutes after it starts, including across midnight. An explicit event choice remains in place when the schedule default changes.
- Enable every device that should receive notifications
- In Settings > Reminders, select Enable on this device. Approve the browser permission prompt when it appears. Sign-in alone does not add a new device: repeat this step in every browser profile or device that should receive reminders.
- Set dates and the reminder time zone
- Schedules without a selected week repeat on their chosen weekdays. Showing dates while following the current week also repeats. Selecting a specific week limits reminders to that week. Reminder time zone is Auto by default, which uses each subscribed device’s local zone; select a named zone to evaluate the schedule in one fixed time zone for every device.
- Fix browser Push setup issues
- If setup reports a Push service error, the browser could not register a Push receiver. Browser settings vary: look for privacy, Push or cloud-messaging, background-app, and notification settings, then refresh the device connection. Also check your operating-system notification settings before trying again. Websites cannot change these browser settings for you. To receive reminders after all browser windows are closed, allow the browser to run background apps when it offers that option. Push delivery is checked every minute and can arrive while ScheduleBuilder is closed when the browser and operating system support it.
Next steps
Enable notifications on another browser or device if needed, then review event-level reminders for appointments that need a different lead time or no reminder at all.
